Like a colorful garden in springtime, our Gan Simcha program is truly blooming and growing every day! With our established classroom at the Gutman Early Learning Center in Melrose Park and our brand new classroom at the Paley Early Learning Center in Northeast Philadelphia, we can welcome families in the city and in the suburbs into our programs! We have a wonderful team of teachers; Dubbie Ungar, Jacki Lazowick-Nadav, Esti James, Chana Bernhard and Judy Rosen. Each of our teachers foster a loving learning environment imbued with Yiddishkeit through all aspects of the curriculum. In addition to engaging and dynamic Jewish and Hebrew programming, the Gan program follows the Creative Curriculum, which embraces STEM concepts through hands-on learning. While being guided by their teachers, preschool children select a topic to study for four weeks that is of interest and relevant to them.
In-depth investigation of these topics, begins with children’s questions. Then, teachers encourage them to use their skills in literacy, mathematics, the arts and technology to explore concepts in science and social studies. In so doing, they have the opportunity to develop observation, exploration, problem solving, communication and analytical skills. This process results in meaningful learning experiences for children.
To round out an already exciting program, the children participate in sign language, and musical sing-a-longs, as well as other enrichment programs, scheduled field trips and special events.
At both of the locations the children enjoy playing on the expansive playgrounds with age-appropriate toys and structures. Spaces are filling up – contact Sherry to learn more about our program! EITC scholarships are available for families in need.
